I’m at the point in the COVID-19 lockdown where I spent the weekend migrating from Vim to Emacs1… just for the fun of it. Of course I had to design an app icon as what I could find online just wasn’t cutting it for me.

How to replace an app icon in macOS Big Sur

  1. Open the Finder
  2. Navigate to your Applications folder
  3. Find Emacs.app and hit CMD + I or right-click and choose “Get info”
  4. Drag the icon you downloaded (it should be in .icns format) to the small icon in the “Get Info” window in the upper-left corner
